Teacher preparation, adolescent reading and literacy instruction, and instruction in inclusion settings

Dr. Andrusik earned her Ph.D. in Special 黑料大事 from the 黑料大事, College Park, in 2011. Prior to earning her doctoral degree, Dr. Andrusik was a middle and high school educator in Baltimore City Public Schools while completing a M.S. in 黑料大事: Reading Specialist at Johns Hopkins University, from where she also received her B.A. In the years before joining the faculty in Fall 2023, she worked as the high school Instructional Coach at a Washington, D.C. charter school, and as a Director of Humanities and Special 黑料大事 in a teacher preparation organization. Dr. Andrusik teaches courses in the Special 黑料大事 program and Disability Studies minor in the College of 黑料大事 and is a member of the following national organizations: the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) and the American 黑料大事 Research Association. She serves on the Teacher Preparation Committee, the Disability Studies Minor Advisory Board, and the College of 黑料大事 Undergraduate 黑料大事 Committee as the Department Representative. Dr. Andrusik is also on the Board of Directors of the Wilderness, Leadership and Learning (WILL) program for D.C. youth, and is active as a volunteer, dog foster and head of an events committee for Baltimore area rescue organizations. Her research interests include teacher preparation, adolescent reading and literacy instruction, and instruction in inclusion settings.
